Redesigning for Belonging: Three Years of the District Redesign Network

Six districts. Sixty-six leaders. An estimated 70,000 students. Over three years, the National Equity Project's District Redesign Network (DRN) tested a premise: that equity-centered systems transformation is possible when districts treat equity as core to their system's design — and when the leaders doing that work are not doing it alone.

What Changed

Systems transformation rarely shows up as one clean metric in year three. But year-end evaluations and network-wide assessment data gave coaches and district teams something more concrete than anecdote: measurable signals that the conditions for lasting change were shifting.
