About

About The Course

Leading For Equity (LFE) is the National Equity Project’s foundational content; since 2002 we have convened thousands of leaders to explore and address issues of equity at the ideological, individual, institutional, structural and societal levels. Individuals and teams receive expert, caring guidance and facilitation to collaboratively address the personal, relational, and technical dimensions of equity work and leadership.

Our virtual Leading for Equity courses are highly experiential and provide opportunities for sharing, reflection, and planning to inform your current work toward equity goals. Participants increase their equity consciousness and develop their capacity to create inclusive environments and make positive change on behalf of communities and populations who are most marginalized in the current system.

Grounded in our Leading for Equity Framework, our LFE course supports leadership development from the β€œinside-out”: participants are supported to see, engage, and act in transformative ways to lead for equity with increased agency, purpose, and efficacy.

Affinity-Based Leading for Equity

In Spring 2022, we launched a set of racial-affinity based LFE courses as a recognition that people have different kinds of learning, growth and healing to do based on our racial identities in a system of racial oppression. Dismantling systemic oppression requires all of us working across identities towards a system that works for everyone - and along the way, we have different types of healing, support, and learning to do in order to work together effectively towards that end.

Both courses run concurrently; we strongly encourage teams from organizations to attend and meet together to debrief their mutual experiences throughout or after the course. If you are a multiracial team planning to attend, please register teammates across both courses according to their racial affinity. Please contact events@nationalequityproject.org if you have any questions about registering a multiracial team from your organization.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Courses are delivered in weekly live, 3-hour interactive learning sessions conducted online in Zoom for 4 or 6 weeks. Each session will be delivered in a live, 3-hour interactive learning session conducted online in Zoom. Attend the live session with facilitators and fellow participants and gain new knowledge and skills to bring back to your own context. Participants receive electronic versions of all resources and tools.

We are intensely focused on humanizing our virtual spaces. We focus on interactivity and connection (these workshops are not webinars), frequent screen and body breaks, and attending to learning, practice, and healing in community with people around the world.

  • Anyone interested in deepening their knowledge, commitment and agency to lead efforts to disrupt and transform racism and inequity at the individual, institutional, and systemic and societal levels.

  • We provide an advance draft of our slide deck 24 hours before the session and enable live transcription and closed caption during the live Zoom session. Our sessions are recorded (absent any technical difficulties) and can be accessed for up to 30 days after the course concludes.

  • Because our trainings include attention to building a learning community and interaction with other folks in small groups, we encourage full participation for the duration of the training. However, we understand that our homes and workspaces are commingling in this time. We hope participants can fully engage during sessions, but support participants to attend to their own unique needs.

  • Course fee: $1200/registration

You will receive a password-protected Zoom link and any other pre-reads and resources prior to the event via email.

Registration by credit card is our preferred method. We are a small (but mighty) organization and processing and collecting check payments for our events has a high administrative impact.
